cervical cancer injection 13 Replies
Last post by ClareJ (Site Admin)

just wondering what other mums thought were about letting their daughters have this injection.
i have 4 daughters 15,13,13, not twins just very close and a 2 yr old. i'm gonna let them have the injection, if it stops one person suffering then surely its gotta be for the best.
if anyone's daughters have already had the injection has there been any side effects, and it what area do you live in.
thanks

I just filled in the form today for my daughter to have the injections ( they need 3 over the next 6 months)
I'm happy for her to have it, but she hates me coz she doesn't like needles!

I think this is a very good idea as both my daughter and I had to have hysterectomies in our very early 30's because of abnormal cells.
Anything that stops this is a plus really. Just my own personal view point.

If I had a daughter of the right age (which I don't) I would let her have it, definitely.

i had to have abnormal cells removed about 8 years ago, wasnt painful just uncomfortable. I wish they had this when i was younger, will be getting it for mine when shes old enough.

why is this jab so contravertial, does anyone know? i dont see where the problem is. cancer can kill or at the very least, ruin lives. if a jab can stop it, whens the problem. it seems like a no brainer really to me. i also dont understand why boys arent getting it, they carry the 'thing' so why dont they get done too?

that what i couldnt understand. i am right behind it an if they can saves lives by having a series of injections then yes everybody should have it. not sure why they arent giving it boys, good point though. it bothered me only because there has been such a controversial response to all the advertisements and tv programs.

I think boys should have the injection too, as its against the std which causes the cancer not the actual cancer. Or so i thought.
Posted by carolinela on Sunday, 14th September 2008, 12:26am
Yep, i think the virus that 'causes' the cancer is an STD hence why so many people are against it (i.e their kids thinking they can have unprotected sex because they think they cant catch an std coz they have had the ja

Dont quote me but i think thats about on the money...
