Bunny, Myself being a sufferer, of these awful things. I just wanted to say, my doctor put me on Beta-Blockers ( Propranalol) I have taken them for 4 months, and i havent had a one since.( i was having 2 or 3 a day) . You can also take pain killers with these like Imigran recovery, although these are pricy ( £8.00) for just two tablets.....But your doctor can also subscribe these.
Also get your eyes tested incase this is adding to it, ( computer screens, and reading.)
Hope this helps, and that you get better soon.

Tinned glasses? LOL................did u save up empty tuna ones?.........Recylcing good idea!
Only joking sweetie!

In all seriousness, Migraines are awful and delibitating. The pounding on one side of the head is awful, the vision goes, and i also get numbness in my left arm.

I tried every pain killer going with migraines, paracetaol, co-codamol 30/500mg....still no joy....

They do say now that Migraines are caused by the tiniest of holes in the heart, like a pin size prick.........and trials are still ongoing......
They also run in families.
Wish they would find a proper cure soon.
One thing is i dont beleive they are related to the food we eat, ...but i do notice sometimes that i crave a certain food badly beforehand, and then get one......so maybe the association with the craving, and eating lots of that certain food makes us think its that certain food.
I do think female homones have a lot to do with it...time of the month, and Stress, is a big contribution.
Hope this helps.
Take care, and see a doctor....

FAO tippytoe I was really interested to read your post because i have suffered from terrible migraines since my early teens and although I have found a couple of really additive heavy foods trigger them I dont really have the triggers wither but I do have the cravings - thats the only time I have heard someone else mention this: thought I was just crackers
I used to take Imigran but they made me really sick but a friend reccomended Maxalt Melt (a brand name for the drug called rizatriptan). They do exactly the same thing but come in a wafer that dissolves completely in your mouth so no nausea. I had to ask my doctor for them but they have made a huge differnce to my life

Bunny have you sent off for info from the migraine association? Blood Pressure can be one cause of migraines, I used to get them many years ago. Also hormonal imbalances can play their part.

Yes very true, blood pressure can be a cause especially in the elderly.
I am off to hospital in a few mins, i got an infected toe, its dripping with green goo....and it hurts sooooooooo much, especially after my dog stood on it..........ouch ouch:

oh forgot to say also, that i have also heard that the weather can make migraines worse, when its so humid. We need a good thunderstorm to clear the air.
wish me luck i am very scared, its just the thought of them touching my toe...my fault for picking at it int he first place i guess.......
so i wont be tippytoeing anymore!
Have a good day!
